What could be more precious,
or worthwhile,
than saving a bit of light?
Stock some up —
or invest it,
at the market —
with your friends.
Shine some
through a film
or lens —
show us
that rusty 1960’s backyard.
Show us ourselves,
striving to preserve
youthful memories —
grasping
at a photo
or a feeling
which leaves us
longing
even so.
We clean
the dusty picture frames
in our hall,
ignoring
those nostalgic cravings —
and turn
those timepieces
backwards and forwards
in the hope
of some
daylight savings.
